According to a report on PotomacOfficersClub.com, the U.S. and U.K. militaries have partnered to trial an artificial intelligence tool during recent military exercises. The toolbox developed jointly by the U.K. Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) and the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) “provides data collected from uncrewed ground and aerial vehicles and offers rapid AI training and retraining on deployed tactical high-performance computers.”
The two recent exercises in which the toolbox was tested were the Project Convergence 22 event at the U.S. National Training Center at Fort Irwin (Nov. 2022) and the Dstl Hydra project’s Integrated Concept Evaluation trials at Salisbury Plain in the U.K.
