The Data Steward position, located Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS), G8/9, Readiness Analytics Directorate, Systems Division, US Army Medical Command, will develop solutions requirements to make data visible to authorized users by identifying, registering, and exposing data in a way that makes it easily discoverable across the enterprise, and to external partners.

According to the posting, duties for the Data Steward include:

  • Provide scientific expertise in performance of work planning, coordinating, and executing systematic research and surveillance.
  • Analyze data from the Military Health System’s (MHS) electronic health records (EHR).
  • Interface computer with military medical data elements and Military Health System’s tools, data warehouses, and DataMart’s.
  • Possess knowledge and application of mathematics, statistical analysis, modeling/simulation, and data and computer sciences.
  • Has expert knowledge on the use of programming languages and is able to use the integrated set of data management and support tools.
  • Apply work experience with use of large longitudinal medical databases, statistical/analysis software platforms.
