Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is searching for a Supervisory Operations Research Analyst, according to a job posting on USAJobs.gov.
The position is within the CBP Office of Finance, Investment Analysis Office, located in Washington DC.
According to the posting, duties for the Supervisory Operations Research Analyst include:
- Exercises responsibility for the critical aspects of design and development of information, analytical studies, and data inquiries. This includes extracting data from CBP enterprise-wide data systems and external data systems; developing tools to collect required information; and writing reports for internal use, as well as external use by CBP leadership.
- Leads a branch conducting agency-wide analytic, modeling, and simulation initiatives, including: developing research proposals and feedback programs including designing analytical products to better inform and support critical CBP decision-making processes.
- Prepares data for analysis by merging and coordinating multiple data sources, constructing and modifying variables appropriate to analyses, and carrying out internal consistency checks. Consults with program/research owners and manages client relationships.
- Provides expert advice to senior leadership on analytic, modeling, and simulation programs, social science methodology, and research practices.
