The Department of Homeland Security is looking for a senior Data Scientist who will serve as the principal architect of Data Program products and services at DHS Headquarters, per a posting on USAJobs.gov. This position is responsible for performing highly technical work across the DHS enterprise to address the Department’s most complex and consequential information and data challenges. The Data Scientist will provide related expert consultation in data architecture, data integration, warehousing, and security, and analytical concepts and methodologies across the DHS Enterprise.
According to the posting, the Data Scientist will:
- Advise efforts to track and integrate data collections, data purchases, databases, physical data models, and linkages between data sets across the DHS.
- Oversee data standardization related activities to include the preparation, extraction, provisioning, protection, and dissemination of data.
- Apply senior-level technical expertise to perform cybersecurity work – including the implementation of custom algorithms, methodologies or techniques of data collection, management, and analysis.
