The U.S. Trustee Program (USTP) within the Department of Justice (DOJ) is seeking to fill two Data Scientist positions, according to a job posting on USAJobs.gov.
This position serves in the Executive Office for United States Trustees (EOUST), Office of Planning and Evaluation (OPE). The OPE is responsible for strategic planning, evaluation, statistical analysis, research, training, and communications. Evaluation and analytical efforts focus on improving Program performance, ensuring accountability, and increasing knowledge about the bankruptcy system.
According to the posting, the Data Scientist’s duties will include:
- Oversees data architecture design and integration into strategic and life cycle management for the agency.
- Serve as the principal analyst, study director, and project manager for assigned studies, and the primary technical advisor to all levels of management on the application of data science to the effective and efficient management and oversight of the national bankruptcy system.
- Exercise initiative in formulating improvements or expansion of existing analytic capabilities within the agency.
- Ensure that Program data architecture provides the ability to review priorities and assess long range projections of bankruptcy issues and program management concepts, operations, and policies in order to predict the impact those changes will have on the required capabilities of the USTP.
