The U.S. Army Communications Electronics Command is searching for a Chief Data Scientist who will also serve as the Chief Data Analytics Officer, according to a job posting on USAJobs.gov.
According to the posting, duties for the Chief Data Scientist include:
- Serves as the Command’s Chief Data Analytics Officer responsible to develop, direct, and control the program and operations of the CECOM Data and Analytics Group in support of program objectives issued by higher authority.
- Within broad policy guidance, address challenges that arise, exercises independent judgment, and renders authoritative decisions.
- Develops program objectives, exercises initiative, judgment, and vision in anticipating program requirements, implementing managerial/technical policies, assessing strategic plans, and choosing between courses of action.
- Activities include information/data analysis, process management, business results, continuous/incremental improvement, policy, plans/program development, and oversight of CECOM data and analytics governance and digital transformation initiatives.
- Participates as a CECOM/Army Materiel Command/Department of the Army representative on functional groups, panels and committees involved in the management and development of automated systems, consisting of senior logistics management planners
