Matthew Graviss
Dr. Matthew Graviss became the CDO at the Department of State in 2020. In this role, Dr. Graviss is responsible for making data accessible, interoperable, and actionable across the Department. He also serves as the Managing Director for the Center for Analytics (CfA) within the Department’s Office of Management Strategy and Solutions. The CfA seeks to create a data-focused culture, develop the corresponding talent, advance data governance, expand analytics capability, and modernize data technology solutions.
Prior to joining State, Graviss spent 13 years in leadership positions at DHS and held various positions in the private sector. Most recently, he spent 2.5 years as the first Chief Data Officer at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services within DHS, where he led data management and analytics services.
