Nicole Stein

Nicole Stein is the Chief Data Officer and Chief, Agency Assistance Branch within the Program Counsel Division at the U.S. Office of Government Ethics (OGE). She oversees the OGE’s efforts to comply with the Evidence Act, focusing on improving data validity, security, and privacy.

Stein joined the OGE in 2004. In her current role, she is also responsible for leading the Desk Officer Program and the Institute for Ethics in Government, planning the National Government Ethics Summit, coordinating strategic external communications, and advancing the practice of performance management and process improvement. Prior to assuming the Chief position, Ms. Stein administered the annual agency ethics program questionnaire and created and delivered training courses. She also served as the project manager for the development of an agency-wide IT application to memorialize interactions with external stakeholders.

Stein holds a Master’s degree in public administration from George Washington University and a Bachelor’s degree in history from Indiana University.
