CDO Council Highlights Accomplishments in 2024 Year in Review

CDO Council Chair Kirsten Dalboe published a summary of Council’s accomplishments in 2024 on the CDO Council’s website.  Highlights include:

  • Expanding engagement through two new working groups, Business of Data and Data Culture for the Workforce.
  • Publishing the Data Science Position Description Library to support federal talent acquisition efforts.
  • Partnering with OMB and other agencies to develop initial AI Security Guidelines and submit them to OMB for further action.
  • Publishing three key deliverables, including the Zero Trust Security Guide, the FAIRness Project, and the Data Science Hiring Toolkit.
  • Launching the COD Council’s first Symposium with the theme Data Power Mission: Transforming Business and Mission with Data, which showcased the Council’s ability to unite diverse government, industry, civil society, and academic stakeholders.

Dalboe summarized her review with the following:

Reflecting on the milestones we have achieved throughout 2024, Rob and I are proud of the collective efforts that have shaped our progress. Each success, from expanding our working groups to fostering meaningful partnerships and delivering impactful tools, has brought us closer to achieving our vision. The dedication and collaboration of every member has been instrumental in driving our mission forward.
