Department of Energy Appoints Josh Linard as Acting CDO

As first noted by G2Xchange FedCiv, Joshua Linard posted on LinkedIn that he has been tapped as the new Chief Data Officer (Acting) at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

The CDO role reports to the DOE Office of the CIO, led by Ann Dunkin.  The position has been vacant for 6 months since previous CDO Emery Csulak left DOE for a private-sector position in Nov. 2022.

Linard has served in various roles at the DOE, including Geospatial Information Officer, Technical Data Manager, and Site Manager.  He previously served for a dozen years as a hydrologist for the U.S. Geological Survey.
