Michelle Zebrowski named CDO at Customs and Border Protection

Customs and Border Protection has named Michelle Zebrowski as its new Chief Data Officer, to work within the Office of Information and Technology led by CIO Sanjeev “Sonny” Bhagowalia.  The appointment was first reported on the G2Xchange.com FedCiv site (subscription required).

According to Zebrowski’s LinkedIn profile, she has worked at CBP since 2011, previously serving as Branch Chief for Data Integration and Management, Branch Chief of the Advanced Trade Analytics Platform, and as an Operations and Maintenance Lead.  She previously worked in the private sector as a consultant for Accenture and PwC, and as a financial analyst at IBM.

In May 2022, CBP posted a job opening for a CDO on USAjobs.gov. “In this Senior Level (SL) position you will serve as a Chief Data Officer and senior technical advisor to the Deputy Assistant Commissioner (DAC) for [the] Office of Information and Technology (OIT).”  Earlier in March 2023, CBP named Trang Tran as its Deputy Chief Data Officer.
