NASA Appoints Dave Salvagnini as Chief Data Officer

As noted today by G2Xchange.com (subscription required), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has hired Dave Salvagnini as its new Chief Data Officer, after announcing the search on USAJobs.gov in January.  (View more about Dave Salvagnini in govCDO’s Federal Data Leader Directory.)

Salvagnini has an extensive history of impactful leadership, Information and communication technology, engineering management, systems engineering, and operations support.

Salvagnini previously served in the ODNI as Director of the Architecture Integration Group and Chief Enterprise Architect.  He also previously served as the Technical Director in the DoD’s Chief Information Office and was the DoD’s Chief Data Officer.  He served in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years in various positions including aircraft maintenance, ground radio systems maintenance, and as a communications and computer systems officer.
