CDO Council Submits 2022 Report to Congress and GAO Report

The Federal CDO Council released its second Report to Congress and OMB, which includes updates on opportunities and challenges in data sharing and data inventory, multiple playbooks, and collaboration efforts with data partners. (The first Report to Congress and OMB is also still available for review.)

In addition, the GAO released a report about the CDO Council’s efforts to improve how the federal government collects and uses data, and how agencies have responded to these efforts. GAO’s analysis in The CDO Council: Progress in Strengthening Federal Evidence-Based Policymaking found that the Council has taken one or more actions related to each of its five statutory requirements. The report also identified how selected agencies have improved their ability to use different types of evidence.
