EDM Council Publishes 2023 Data ROI Report

The EDM Council‘s Data ROI Working Group has published its third report, titled “DataCo: Independent Data Organizations Maximizing the Value of Data”. The report can be downloaded from the EDM Council’s website. (Free registration required.)

This report describes how enterprises can maximize the value of its data assets by establishing a “DataCo” — or Data Company — as an independent organizational construct within a parent company. The report looks at 51 companies that have created a DataCo and analyzed publicly reported performance information.

While governmental organizations may not be able to create a separate organizational unit and indeed often have trouble establishing the objective value of data, this report can still provide Federal CDOs with interesting and valuable insights about how to maximize an agency’s data assets.
