The Secretary of the Department of the Navy (SECNAV) is searching for a Data Scientist, according to a job posting on USAJobs.gov.
This position will serve as the Serve as the Data Analysis and Report Lead and is located in the Security Cooperation Data Management Office (IPO-06) of the Navy International Programs Office (NIPO) Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Field Office.
According to the posting, duties for the Data Scientist include:
- Participate in the development of overall system requirements and data standards, and support business process reengineering efforts.
- Apply a combination of computational and machine learning methods to new or big data-driven organizational solutions
- Interpret large and/or complex data sets to develop date-driven organizational solutions using data visualization using tools (e.g., Tableau, Raphael.js, Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Databricks, Qlik…)
- Analyze a variety of data sources to provide data-driven insights to the organization to streamline business processes.
- Analyze management information requirements to develop program or administrative reporting systems including the systems specifications, data gathering and analytical techniques, and systems evaluation methodology.
