Thomas Dabolt
Thomas (Tod) Dabolt is the Chief Data Officer (CDO) and Geospatial Information Officer (GIO) at the U.S. Department of the Interior and has served 23 years in the federal government. Mr. Dabolt started as DOI’s GIO in 2016 and was named the Department’s CDO in 2019. In that role, he helps the Department transparently answer tomorrow’s questions today while opening up DOI’s data to the next generation. Tod previously worked for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) bringing geospatial expertise to the country’s water quality monitoring and assessment program and later the entire EPA water program. He has frequently partnered with state and federal agencies to enhance information-based public policy decision making.
