Andrea Ramirez

Andrea Ramirez, M.D., M.S., is the Chief Data Officer of the All of Us Research Program at the National Institutes of Health. In this role, she is centralizing data governance and analytics processes within the program, which is building a diverse research database that can inform thousands of studies on a variety of health conditions. Ramirez previously served as senior advisor to the All of Us CEO.

Before joining the National Institutes of Health, Ramirez was a physician scientist at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) in Nashville, where she studied the genomics of metabolic disorders and precision diabetes care. While there, she also led the data science team at the All of Us Data and Research Center. Previously, she was a Clinical Fellow in Endocrinology at NIH and a Chief Fellow in Clinical Pharmacology at VUMC.

Ramirez received her B.S. in Biochemistry at North Carolina State University, her MD at Duke University, a M.S. in Clinical Investigation at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. She also completed training at NIH in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. Andrea maintains her clinical practice in pharmacogenomics, atypical diabetes, and general endocrinology.
