Brian Brotsos

Brian Brotsos serves as the Chief Data Officer for the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). He leads Data and Digital Services Division within the Office of IT and Data Services. In this role, he advises leadership on matters pertaining to data, data protection and data program operations, while ensuring its data is available, reliable, consistent, accessible, secure, and timely to support the mission and activities of FHWA. This includes ensuring efficiencies in data management, as well as identifying the public value of FHWA data. At FHWA, he oversees tactical and strategic data-related activities for the agency and its stakeholders, and leads FHWA’s efforts to track data collections, data purchases, databases, and linkages between datasets. He previously served as FHWA’s Acting Chief Architect and Director of the Enterprise Architecture Division. He also served as a Fiscal Service Business and Data Architect for the Treasury Department.
