Bryan Sparkman

Colonel Bryan Sparkman is the Deputy Chief Data and AI Officer in the U.S. Department of the Air Force, Chief Data and AI Office.

Colonel Sparkman most recently served in the Joint Staff as the Chief Analyst of the Force Application Division. In his role as Deputy CDAO, he is responsible for supporting the Department’s data and AI initiatives, in partnership with CDAO Chandra Donelson.

The Department’s CDAO (CND) is housed within the Office of the CIO (SAF/CN). CND’s mission is to empower information dominance and operational superiority of Airmen and Guardians through data and AI oversight, policy, and governance for decision advantage and successful mission execution. CND was established in 2017 to strengthen and modernize the Department’s data strategy and capabilities; the AI capability was added to CND portfolio in 2021.
