Chakib Chraibi
Dr. Chakib Chraibi serves as Acting Associate Director for the Office of Data Services and Chief Data Scientist in the U.S. Department of Commerce, NTIS (National Technical Information Service). In his current position, Dr. Chraibi provides expertise and assistance to governmental agencies in harnessing innovative and emerging technologies and delivering data-driven solutions to achieve mission impact within the NTIS framework.
The mission of NTIS is to provide innovative data services to federal agencies to advance their federal data priorities, enable operational excellence, and achieve mission outcomes. NTIS applies its unique joint venture partnership (JVP) authority to pair leading, innovative companies with federal agencies to help solve their complex data challenges.
Dr. Chraibi serves on the Commerce Department’s Data Governance Board, OPM’s Data Science Focus Group, AFCEA Tech Summit Committee, and ACT-IAC’s AI in Government Playbook Group. He is also the Government Chair of the ATARC Predictive Analytics Working Group.
Prior to his Commerce Department position, he served as associate dean at Western Governors University’s College of Information Technology and as dean at the Virginia International University’s School of Computer Information Systems. Dr. Chraibi received a Doctorate of Science from the University of Bordeaux, a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Binghamton University, and a Professional Certificate in Data Science from Columbia University.
