Dorothy Aronson
Dorothy Aronson distinctively holds both the Chief Data Officer and Chief Information Officer roles at the National Science Foundation. She is the principal advisor to the agency’s Director and other senior management on IT and data issues. She oversees policy and governance for the efficient, effective use of IT and data resources to accomplish the Foundation’s mission.
She previously served the NSF as both the Acting CIO and as the Director for the Division of Information Systems within the Office of Information and Resource Management. She has facilitated the linkage of mission and strategy to IT tools that enable the Foundation to manage the full lifecycle of proposals and awards.
She was recognized in 2013 as one of the FCW Fed 100 for her mastery of innovation and for her ability to effectively engage her staff around a common vision for cutting-edge IT in support of NSF-funded cutting-edge research.
