Matt Cox
Matt Cox is the Chief Data Officer at the U.S. Trade and Development Agency, where he also serves as the Director of Management Operations. His office ensures the accountability, transparency, and the open use of data as required in the President’s Open Government Initiative and the Foundations for Evidence-Based Policy Making Act of 2018 (Evidence Act). Before joining USTDA, Mr. Cox served as the Executive Staff Director, Communications and Resource Management, for the Federal Railroad Administration’s Office of Safety, where he managed and coordinated all human capital, financial, and administrative, and communication services. Prior to joining the federal government, Cox was responsible for business operations at FlightSafety International and served in the United States Navy in a variety of aviation and mission support roles, retiring as a Commander in 2009.
