Alyssa Lapan

Alyssa Lapan was named the Chief Data Officer at the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Overseas Building Operations, in Oct. 2023, according to her LinkedIn profile.  She oversees programs including digital strategy, data operations, and data governance.

She has served at State for nearly a decade, including her prior role as a product manager leading a team that set strategies, roadmaps, and future definition for State Department real estate and facilities products worldwide. She also provided expert advice, briefings, and policy recommendations to senior Department leadership. In her first role at State, she served as an Architect, BIM Lead, and Product Owner.

Lapan previously served as an adjunct professor at the Catholic University of America, where she established graduate and undergraduate courses covering the theory, practices, data standards, and digital tools needed to produce industry-leading digital design and construction projects.
