David Orso

David Orso is the Deputy Chief Data Officer at the Department of Veteran’s Affairs.

Orso has held numerous positions during his 16 years with the VA, including Senior Advisor for Data and Analytics; Director of Architecture Integration; and Director, VA Business Architecture and Portfolio Analysis. His responsibilities included leading enterprise program evaluations, managing data assets, and developing strategic plans to improve data governance and analytics across the department.

Before joining the VA, he served as a consultant in the private sector with Touchstone Consulting Group. Previously, he served in the U.S. Navy for 23 years as a Command Master Chief/Senior Enlisted Leader and earlier as a Master Chief Intelligence Specialist.

Orso earned a Bachelor degree in Public Administration from Roger Williams University and a Master of Science degree in Management from Troy State University. He has completed executive education programs at National Defense University and the Naval Postgraduate School.
