Lisa Rosenmerkel

Lisa Rosenmerkel serves the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) as the Chief Data Officer and Executive Director, Data Governance and Analytics in the Office of Enterprise Integration. She promotes the use of leading data management technologies and cutting-edge data and analytics methodologies to support performance management, advance the Department, and provide benefits to our nation’s Veterans, their families, caregivers, and survivors.

Prior to joining VA, Lisa supported Treasury’s implementation of the American Rescue Plan and leveraged data and cutting-edge analytic tools to inform IRS program and policy evaluation. She served as Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary, Office of Economic Policy and worked in Operations, State & Local Fiscal Recovery Fund, Office of Recovery Programs.

Previously, she spent 19 years at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) predominantly in data and analytics-related roles, including Chief, Modeling & Optimization (Data Exploration & Testing, Research Applied Analytics & Statistics). She also served in the IRS Data Management Division as Chief, Imaging and Technical Support Branch; Chief, Data Delivery & Support; and ultimately as the Associate Director.
